Audio Systems: Resetting car radio, vw cabriolet, memory ic

 I have 1997 VW Cabriolet with Premium Anti-theft radio/tape player.  After installing a new battery I need to reset the radio.  I have the four digit code.  How do I proceed to reset the radio?

I don't know the exact procedure to enter the code for your stereo. Look in your vehicle owners manual or ask your local VW dealer for the procedure. note, if you try to enter the code and you enter it incorrectly three times in a row, the memory IC will be flash/emptied and the stereo will have to be sent out to be reprogrammed. On most stereos after you enter the code you will need to hold down a certain button on the display to lock in the code.
