Audio Systems: wiring, spst switch, l bracket

Question
How would I wire a switch or button in my car that controls the power to my amplifer and where would be the ideal place to put it (oh yes I would to be able to turn the amp on and off while the car is on) what all tools will I need for this project

Adrian,
You can install a small toggle switch just about anywhere that is easy for you to reach. A mini SPST switch from Radio Shack should work for this project. All you need to do is to solder two wires on the switch and install it into the line that turns on the power to the remote amp. You can drill a small hole to mount the switch or install it on an L-bracket to mount it under the dash.
