Audio Systems: CD doesnt want to spin, radio mode, focus search

I put in a CD and try to play it but it just doesnt spin after 5-6 seconds it just starts playing the radio. How can i fix it without buying another CD player?

Most likely the laser lense is dusty or dirty. With a dirty lense the laser will not have a good Focus Search and it will default back to the radio mode. To clean the laser lense you can use a Qtip just dampened with rubber alcohol and gently rub the lense to clean it.
