Audio Systems: Cassette Deck and Changer Install, e mail address, installing a car radio

Question
I am writing about installing a car radio. I found your e-mail address on about.com and hopefully you can help me out. I am trying to install a pioneer cassette deck and a cd changer into a 91 Toyota Corolla. I bought the car used and someone had cut the factory radio wire harness. I bought an aftermarket adapter but I'm not sure if it's relevant since i don't have the factory wires to begin with. I cut some factory wires from a 88 Toyota celica hoping they would match up with the wires on the Corolla but the colors are different. Can you please provide me with some information, or refer somewhere where i can get information or parts. I am totally clueless of the process, but have an idea, and if possible I would like to do this myself.

Answer
Jane,
I don't have the wiring diagram for your vehicle. You can try one of the following to help install your new sound system. 1, locate the same year and model of your vehicle and cut out the connector so that you can match up the wire colors and butt connect the ends back together so you can use the adapter connector, or  2,visit your local Toyota dealer and ask the service mngr if he/she can make a copy of the wires for the factory stereo. With the wires identified you can match up the proper wires from your new stereo to the speaker and power wires in the adapter connector.
