Audio Systems: Installing splits, inline fuse, speaker outputs

Question
Hi ...
i have purchased a jvc headdeck with 4x50w output.I installed it myself (no experience whatsoever)an everythings fine however everytime i turn the car off all the stations/settings reset. What could be the cause of this problem?I also have infinity splits and a subwoofer but they havent gone in because i need an amp or two.
I am thinking of installing the splits however i would like to know if the crossover's have to be connected to an amplifier or can i just use the headdeck as an amp and plug the existing speaker wire into the ports on the crossover that say "Amplifier Speaker Outputs" .
My original plan was to have the splits through an amp along with the subwoofer however recently ive rethought that plan because i dont want the car to develop extra rattling.
Can you help me?

Answer
Adam ,

ok the wire that is in question is the 12 volt constant wire, i hope you used a wire harness adapter so you can make positive all the connections are good, but either way track down the 12 volt constant wire should be yellow on the JVC harness but colors change from brand to brand .. i would probe the wire you have it connected to with a test light to see if the wire on the cars harness is producing the 12 volt constant power , if nothing dont worry just run a new piece of wire *16 gauge* directly from the battery to the JVC's harness make sure you use an inline fuse * 30AMP * for protection... now about the x-over, it is possible to use this from the speaker leds of the head unit but dont use the head unit to power any subs, the pioneers will be ok , but i still dont recommend it because you will be straining the 200 watts the head unit has to offer, so 2 amps or one larger amp would be the best way to go, if you have any rattle problems Dynamat is the best solution ... hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know

thanks
