Audio Systems: Maxima - Bose 6 CD Changer - CD Err F3, cassette radio, small spring

Hi Tom,

Thank you for taking your time to answer my question -- very much appreciated.  I have a Maxima with a Bose 6 CD Changer with cassette/radio system.  When I load a cd to play, the display reads "CD Err F3."  What does this mean, and how can I fix it?

These CD changers can sometimes mispick and try to install 2 CD's at the same time causing the err codes. If your CD changer is part of the complete stereo and not a separate unit, the problem may be that a small spring has popped off and jammed up the changer. I usally just replace the complete changer assembly rather than trying to repair it due to no repair parts being available. You may want to remove your unit and open it up to see what the changer assembly is doing when you try to load in a disc.
