Audio Systems: No Power, power fuses, inline fuse

Question
I am getting no power.
Fuses check okay.
Radio works, I know this.
Using a 12v meter, i get 12v from the ignition wire (Yellow w/ Red stripe from car, Red from radio), but 0.01v from the main lead/power wire from the battery.  (White w/ Yellow stripe From car, Yellow from radio).

Being the wierdo whom thinks outside the box, I connected both wires from the radio (Red and Yellow) to the ignition wire from the car (Yellow w/ Red stripe) and the radio recieved power.  ( Thats how I know the radio is working.  But when i connect them correctly, the radio does not receive any power at any time, whther the car is on, off, or key is in the on or acc. position.  After being confounded by this problem for two days, I decided to put the old radio back in.  Guess what, same problem......

I am now at a loss, and have turned to the internet, and have found....you.
I would appreciate any help you could give me, if any.

Thanx,

Answer
Joshua,

very good dectective work , most people never go the as far as they can then get help its good you did because it helps me help you .. ok now to the problem.. you get 12volt ignition which is actually the most important wire you need .. now all you need to do is run a new 12volt constant wire directly from your battery to your head unit make sure you pass it through an inline fuse just for protection, now that you have the fix i will touch on what might have happened .. more than likly its a broken wire probley under the skin/insulation but shouldnt cause you any problems.. hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know

thanks
