Audio Systems: Pioneer CD changer losing power when brakes are applied, pioneer cd changer, inline fuse

Question
Hi, I am having a problem with a Pioneer cd changer in a 95 Toyota Celica, the stereo is powered when the car egnition is turned on, sometimes there is a delay before the stereo comes on and then when it does, anytime the brakes are applied the shereo itself cuts out, i have also found using lights sometimes cuts it out. Its very flustrating every time you brake the stereo cuts out, however if you have to brake for a longer lenght of time, it will eventually come back on with the brake peddle still pressed. Brought it to mechanic and he thought stereo wasn't earthed properly but this hasn't solved problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Andrew,

he could have been right you might try fixing a new ground .. i normall never see this problem unless its a real high end system with amps and subs and alot of high watt equipment .. so you should stop by an auto zone or other place and have your chargeing system and battery checked its free .. to make sure its not weak .. also i would recommend whoever installed your unit go back over their wiring , it would be in the power , 12volt ignition/turn on , or the ground if there is any problem so you or them need to pay close attention to those points.. make sure they didnt run your power source through your fuse block but direct from your battery through an inline fuse .. i hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know

thanks
