Audio Systems: New stereo problems, solenoid starter, alpine amp

Question
I just installed a new stereo system in my 1993 GMC Yukon.  I have a Pioneer head unit and Alpine amp connected to a subwoofer, all components were installed by myself.  The system works fine when the car is running, however, the car won't start on occassions.  Sometimes, when I turn the key the accessory position, it's like the battery is drained (the lights are dim, the warning tone is dull), and when I try to start the car, it obviously won't start.  However, after I shut it completely off and try it again (I do this a couple of times), I'll flip it to the accessory position, everything is normal, and the car starts right up.  The battery obviously isn't dead because the car starts, it's like there is a bad connection somewhere that sometimes cuts power when I try to start the car.  This problem has become very annoying because it happens randomely like once or twice a week.  I am at a loss for what is causing this problem, so I would appreciate any help.  Thanks.

Answer
Chris,
It sounds like your vehicle has a defective connection in the battery circuit. Try removing, cleaning and reinstalling the battery clamps. Also with the battery cables off the battery, tighten all the connections that the large red battery wire is fastened to, ie.
solenoid/starter.
