Audio Systems: Saab/Clarion Radio problem, clarion radio, radio problem

Dear Tom,
I have a 1994 Saab 9000 with the factory clarion am/fm cass, with a separate in dash cd/equilizer. About two months ago the radio went into security lock out where "code" flashes on the display and you need to enter the security code. I entered the code but it did not go back to normal play, "code" just keeps flashing on the display. I know that I am entering the correct code, but it will not resume normal play. I took it to the dealership and they told me it was an internal malfunction with the radio and I needed to get a new one. I did buy a new radio, same model but when I put the new one in the same problem happened. The dealership keeps insisting that it is the radio, but they said that they have never seen this problem before and for this to happen to two different radios; one of which was tested before purchase and worked, makes me a little skeptical whether it is the radio or not. Do you have any ideas?

It's possible that your vehicle has a defective connection somewhere in the power/ground wires that feed the stereo. When you enter the security are you following the owners book for the complete procedure for entering the code?
