Audio Systems: trying to get radio to work in mercedes 300e, mercedes 300e, code mode

i'm the 2nd owner , the vehicle had the car radio removed and put a cd player in, this was removed prior to change . the radios manual with the pass code was there when we connected all the wires the code comes on after entering it we get e2 on display.
also the antenna didn't go up I'm not sure if it will once radio goes on any help would be appreciated

Pull out the connector on the radio and let the radio sit for about 10 minutes and then plug the connector back in. The enter code mode should come up with the key on and after pressing the power button. Very carefully enter the security code by following the instructions in the owners book. NOTE, you will only have 3 attempts to inter the correct code! if you do not enter the correct codes the eprom will be flashed and the radio will no longer respond to any codes! and it will need to be sent to a factory repair center to be reprogrammed. If you follow the code entering procedure the radio should come on and the antenna should go up.
