Audio Systems: Cassette Player Low Sound RH Speakers, radio cassette player, amp section

Question
I have a stereo AM/FM radio cassette player that has right and left radio sound, but the cassette only plays the sound very faintly on the right speakers while having normal sound on the left speakers. The same tapes play normally left and right in other vehicles. I suspect a connector problem at the rear of the cassette involving oxidation on the contacts, but I don't really know how to trouble shoot this, or what is typically found. Please advise.

Answer
Hello Self,
The problem may be due to a very dirty tape head or defective connection. Several other things may be the cause of low volume/sound such as defective coponents in the play back audio amp section. Please give me the complete model number off your stereo tape unit.
