Audio Systems: Car Stereo, fuse block, lincoln continental

Question
Cody,

I purchased a 1991 Lincoln Continental, and the radio does not work.  I have power to the radio, but no sound from the speakers.  I notice the stereo light flickering but no sound.

Thanks for any advice

Answer
Steve,

check your owners manual and your window sheet if you have to make sure you dont have a factory amplified system, and also go to your fuse block pull each and every fuse out and check for blows , check ALL fuses not just the radio related ones .. now if you dont have an amplified system and possibly even if you do , its in the head unit, over time components wear down and for over 10 years of service on the unit its done very well so i would pick up a good aftermarket replacement and swap out, but make sure if you have an amplifier that its functioning, if your head unit seems to be working then its a good possibility you have a factory amp and its bad in this case you really need to take it to a shop to have them cut out or replace the stock amp .. hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know

thanks
