Audio Systems: chrysler radio, 2001 dodge stratus, dodge stratus

Im not sure if you work on the newer radios but I have a 2001 dodge stratus coupe with a 4 disc in dash cd changer part # mr459823  It will not accept a disc the ready light just flashes but will not stay solid telling me it is ready after a while it comes up err.  I have taken it somewhat apart to see what is going on and there is a little white piece of plastic that flips up to stop you from putting a disc at the wrong time   well I guess it thinks all the time is the wrong time.  It curently has no cds in it   any ideas  Thanks Ryun

The problem may be due to misaligned timimg gears. If any of the small parts are broken in the CD changer unit I can tell you that your best course would be to replace the complete CD changer inside the stereo. To align the unit you would need the service manual with a cost of about $40-$50
