Audio Systems: amps, output transistors, car amps

hi i have two car amps the 1st one is a MOSFET MX2150. it lights up and you can hear sound but as soon as you turn it up it just crackels. the second amp is a RADIOMOBILE RA2200 this is a try amp,as i run 6*9's an a sub off it , its bin fine for a year iv reasantly changed cars, i refit the amp an it has bin fin for mounths but this week it just went off, there is still sound but it very low and crackely. please help as i have reasantly lost my job an can't aford two buy new amps,

Hello Rob,
Most likely a few of the power supply driver transistors have burned out and/or shorted out. If any of the output transistors have shorted the amp wouldn't have any sound at all. If you have a VOM and have basic electronics troubleshooting skills then you should be able to locate the defective parts and replace them yourself.
