Audio Systems: Poor Reception on New Factory Radio, ford pickup, factory radio

I just purchased a 2004 Ford pickup with the premium AM-FM 6 disk CD, and the radio reception is much worse than my 2001 Ford pickup.  I listen to AM a lot, and that reception is very bad.  Additionally, the FM reception is not what the older truck had.  Any ideas how I can improve reception?

Hello Cliff,
If you haven't already checked out a new similar truck to compare how the other radio performs try that first. I can tell you that on many vehicles the AM reception will not be what you expect due to all the electrical noise in the air and from the computers in the vehicle that run everything. If after comparing another truck and the reception is the same you may want to try installing a signal booster.
