Audio Systems: Mercedes Benz Auto Stereo, mercedes benz auto, slk 230

Question
After jump starting a dead battery, the factory installed stereo on my 1998 MB SLK 230 will not power up.  The cd changer is not affected.  I've checked all the fuses in the car and everything is in working order.  What is a likely scenario here.... and where is the best place to get this repaired without going to the dealership for a new stereo.

Thank you.

Answer
Brian,

most common a battery swap out or recharge only results in a security code needing to be re-entered check your owners manual to see if it has this option and what you can do to fix it .. the second problem which isnt as common as the first is when your battery got recharged it sent a power surge to the head unit causing it to "FRY" so to speak in that case the only cure is a swap out ... since its  a factory unit i would take it back to the dealership have them take a look at it but before you do that even though you checked the fuses.. go over them again and not just stereo fuses pull each and every fuse out one at a time to check for blows .. hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know

thanks
