Audio Systems: Wiring problem - rear speakers, haynes manual, radio sh

I already have the Haynes repair manual, and as comprehensive of a manual it is, the wiring diagram doesnt include that info.  Infact, there is only one mention of Radio in the diagrams in the back,

Question -
I am trying to install a JVC radio in my 1987 Dodge Aries. I have the wiring harness for both the dodge side & JVC, however I have no clue which wires go to which speakers (on the dodge side).  The original radio wasnt in there & only the fron speakers were hooked up.  Do you know the color wiring code for this particular car ?  I know which wires are accerories, ground and positive voltage.

  it sounds like your missing the factory harness plug that plug/ed into the factory unit .. if the plug had been there all you would need would be a wire harness adapter from radioshack about 9 bucks this would have wired into the jvc harness then plugged into the stock plug .. the only advice i can give you is to rent/buy a haynes repair manual for your make and model of car in the back there will be a wire diagram that will help you trace down your wires to get everything str8ened out .. i'm sorry i cant help you anymore than this but maybe it will get you on the right path

   i have haynes manual for every vehicle i have and haynes in the only manual that has the schematic for stereos .. the stereo diagram is small only 2 pages i think ..i have a PDF file for late GM's that you are welcome to download at

i have yet to find one that doesnt have a stereo diagram it gives the color code and the function like left + ect.. but i maybe be wrong on your model, i know it can be hard to track down because of the mess of schematics in the back of the book but go through them slowly and look , other than the manual i have no idea where you can find the information you might try radio shack sometimes they or an equal store or auto parts store can get you a diagram like that just ask around .. sorry that this is all i can do but if you need anything else let me know
