Audio Systems: Audiobahn system, watts rms, audiobahn a8002t

Question
I just ordered the Audiobahn ABP15T subs and box and I was wondering if the Audiobahn A8002T amp would be enough to push it.  I didn't get it from the place below, since I got a MUCH better price somewhere else, but here's some info on them both:

The subs are 500W x 2 RMS, btw, totaling 1000W.  The store I asked to put it in recommended this amp to go with those speakers since i was low on cash, saying something about running it mono split at 4 ohms instead of stereo 2 ohms.  He also said that although it'd only be 400W x 2 RMS coming from the amp, that it'd still sound real nice since it's not its peak power and it'd hit louder on some bass notes.  If this amp sucks, what's another good cheap one?  Thanks in advance!

Answer
Jamahl,

i just took a look i wish it had the RMS specs but thats fine .. i did notice the speakers are 4 ohm so the guy who told you to wire it in 2 ohms really didnt do his research on the subs .. but the amp seems pretty good the specs doesnt say if the advertised watts are RMS or not that is where i'm hung up because 800 watts is the MAX wattage so the guy also lied about 400 watts RMS thats max wattage * in most all normal brands max wattage is advertised and used to label the amp and in the details it gives max watt and RMS at 2/4/8 ohms ect..* if i had to guess the unit would push around 200 watts RMS x2 for a 2ohm sub but yours are 4 ohm so you will only get about 100 RMS which will still sound good but not touch the subs potential .. now enough of my complaining haha .. if you insist on sticking with an audiobahn amp you wont find one for a decent price that will slam alot of watts to your subs .. so here is my "COST EFFICENT" recommendation that will give you more power to the subs with about the same controls as the audiobahn but easier on the wallet... just take a look the link is the store i buy most all of my electronics from and they have great deals !
