Audio Systems: power cable, farad capacitor, watt amp

Would an 8gauge power cable be ok for a 1200max watt amp? or should i go with a 4 gauge instead?im hooking up 2 12"sony explodes 800watt max speakers and a 1200wattmax profile amp.

   4 gauge definantly for the power and ground and i would use atleast 12 gauge speaker wire to keep everything sounding good also you should look into a 1 farad capacitor since your pushing over 1000 watts so you dont drain/damage your charging system ... hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know
