Audio Systems: Radio swap, radio swap, car audio shop

Question
I Can I put a radio from a 2003 Ford Explorer in a F150 Super Duty without any problems?  I had a 2003 radio that had two connectors on the back for two harnesses.  I gave the unit to someone who tried to put it in a Super Duty with one harness.  The unit worked in my Explorer (1998) but didn't have all the features my 98 radio had (cd/tape/AM&FM/RDS/CD Changer.  The Super Duty has one harness and the old radio had one connector. Could you possibly plug that harness in the wrong connector and blow it out?  What would cause the radio from working when it worked in my Explorer just days earlier?

Answer
Shawane,
In theory you can put the radio into the F150, but there is no guarentee that it would work. In all honesty I would visit your local car audio shop and have them check it out. You would need an adapator at the very least (the shop can help you with that). Now that I think about it, that should be the only piece that you need, if you need any at all. I don't believe that the radio would 'blow out', per say, if you were able to hook it up (which there are no guarentees for). However, I'm going out of town, my flight leaves in less than 2 hours and I'm still not ready. I hope this helps though.

Best Of Luck,
Alan
