i was wanting to know how too hook up a audio system to a laptop

You have to have the right plugs to hook your laptop up into a real audio system. I use a 16 gauge male plugin (part that plugs into the laptop) that splits out into a dual male RCA connection (right channel/left channel). I can use that cable to plug my laptop into any receiver made. You should be able to find the cable at Best Buy or CompUSA or Radio Shack. If you don't, just tell a sales rep what you want to do and ask if they carry that kind of cable.
