Audio Systems: removing radio, external fuse, fuse holders

Question
Tom, how do I remove my after-market radio/tape player from the 1994 Sable?  I blew the fuse inside the radio itself (not the fuse on the fuse panel), and I need to pull the radio and repalce the fuse.  Is it a matter of screws, and how many are there? Thanks.

Hello larry,
Depending on the make and model the fuses for the radio might not be on the inside of the radio. Most after market radios will have the fuses installed in two external fuse holders. 1 for memory and 1 for main power. You might be able to see these fuse holders by looking up under the dashboard. If you need to remove the radio you will find either screws holding the radio trim on or it may snap away from the dashboard.
