Question - I opened it and two were on top together. They came out easily, so I took all of them out and put it back together. But it still says error- mechan. Should I try to put one in?

My Nagamichi cd changer says Error- mechan.

It has 4 cds in it but none will come out and it will not play.  The radio and everything else works fine.
Answer -
Hello Maddy,
The mech error is coming up due to the jammed CD's inside the changer. Sometimes two disc will be loaded at the same time which will cause a jam error code. The only way to fix this problem is to take off the cover of the changer and manually turn the load gears in reverse to put the trays back into the slots in the cartridge that they belong. DO NOT pry on anything or you will destroy the changer.

Answer
Maddy,
With power applied to the changer, look for the reset button. It be a very small button that you need to press with the tip of ball point pen. If the reset doesn't restore the changer to normal operation then the unit will need to be serviced.
