Audio Systems: Car radio makes sound wiith Engine revs, ground loop isolator, wirenuts

Question
I installed a new radio on my car.

When the car is off the radio plays fine.
But when I start the car, I hear a sound following the car engine revs. It sounds like
harmonics from the Engine (the sound is like what you hear in sand storm)

How can I fix this problem..

Kind regards
Evans

Answer
Evansm,

you are getting feedback/distortion/ ect.. go back over your wiring make sure you have everything where it needs to be and that you used plenty of electric tape/wirenuts and secured all the wires and insulated them good if at all possible use a soldier iron to ensure a good connection .. ok now with that said the quick fix is a distortion blocker / ground loop isolator you can pick one up for usually under 10 bucks at radio shack wire it in and should fix you right up .. hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know

thanks
