Audi Repair: audi keyless remote stopped working, ausi, remotes

Hello I have a 2001 Ausi S4... just out of no where the other day my remote stopped working on my Audi... I first thought it was the batteries, I tried my second key which was at the house for a long time and it also didn't work. I figured the batteries on that should also be bad. I went out to buy new batteries and tried both remotes to find out neihter still work? I have no idea what it might be. all doors lock and unlock from the inside switch. If I manually use the key to unlock the car on the door or truck, it still works perfectlly fine. one time to unlock on door, two time unlocks all, when I lock mauanlly on the outside the car still chirps as if the alamr is set on. I checked all fuses to find no problem... I'm to the point I have no other idea on where to turn. any ideas??? thank you

Did you get any water in the car?  The module that controls the central locking is under one of the front seats.  If it gets wet that could cause a problem.  Unfortunately if you've changed the batteries, and that did not work, the receiver may be bad.  Check that it is getting power, and if soe, you may have to exchange the receiver, or get it repaired.  Let me know what you find,  Jan
