Audi Repair: Allroad air springs, bladder replacement, seal kit

Question
Greg,
I have a 2001 Allroad with about 102K miles.  I've just started having problems with the front air springs not holding air overnight.  The car still levels right out when starting but I'm guessing I should replace the air springs now before I overwork the compressor.  So far I'm finding that it will cost about $600 per spring just for parts.  I have found a manufacturer that makes a bladder replacement so I could rebuild instead of replace the entire assembly.  Bladder plus install kit for re-installing will only cost about $100 each.  Way better than 600.  How difficult is it to replace the bladder on the existing units instead of replacing the whole thing?

Answer
hello
yes, replace soon , before the compressor stops working. And who told you to replace the whole strut???. we, at the dealer replace just the bag and seals. 2 bags and seals run about $ 600 plus labor.
If you can get aftermarket ones for 100 - I will go for it. Just make sure it comes with upper and lower seals ( or seal kit).
How hard is it to replace? O well - the whole strut has to be removed, with the upper arms. than u take the upper plate off , than nut and the bag comes off. It's not hard ones the strut is off the car.
If you can ,please, let me know where you can get then for $100 .
thanks and good luck , Greg
