Audi Repair: 1997 audi A4 High beams and Cruise control, high beams, low beams

Sorry Jan forgot to mention in my previous email that the 97 a4 is 2.8 and the high beams work when you pull on the side light stick but when you push the stick foward no high beam and the cruise switch won't turn on when you not even the dash light

Hi Irv,
Thanks for the question.  If the lights are switched on do you get the low beams OK?  The headlights are seperately wired, so it could be the main switch if you get no lights at all, or it could be the combination switch for selcting high beam/low beam.  The fact that the cruise is not working would support an issue with that switch.  I would check all the connections to it first though, as you say this is an expensive replacement.  Let me know how you get on,  Jan
