Audi Repair: Audi TT (2000) - high pitch sound, high pitch sound, oil leaks

When I accelerate I hear a very high pitch sound (like a scream).  If I let off the gas it ceases.  It only does this when I accelerate hard.

Is this the turbo?  What should I check?

Could be the turbo, check for leaks before writing off the turbo tho, check that all the intake pipes are connected properly including the ones behind the front bumper leading into and out of both the inter-coolers. also check for cracked hoses.

after that,check that no oil leaks out of the turbo when the engine is idling. if any leaks are found on the turbo assembly then you will have to replace it.
