Audi Repair: 98 A4 1.8 Turbo Headlights, light bulbs, main switch

QUESTION: I go to turn my headlights on and nothing happens i think its the relay because the fuses are still good and when i go to hit the bright to flash they work.. i was wondering what relay it would be??

ANSWER: Could be the relay or the headlight switch.  Each headlight is fused seperately so the fuses typically only casue one to go out.  Suspect the switch first.  Jan

QUESTION: Thanxs....Got ya.... checked the switch or at least i think i did.... the switch is fine it shows that it is sending a signal to the dash board and it says my lights are on.. but still nothing and the fuses are fine..i changed both light bulbs??? is it the relay and if it is which one is it cause i cant find a diagram on which one to change?? Thanx in advance

Each headlight is fused seperately!  So bulbs and fuses are probably OK since otherwise only one would be out.  So it is either the main switch  (there are no relays) or the dimmer switch.  I would go for the dimmer switch first, since that gets more use.  Let me know what you find,  Jan
