Audi Repair: 1999 Audi A4 1.8T TipTronic Slow off the go, air flow sensor, vacuum line

Question
So my car has no jam from a stand still. I can put the pedal to the floor and It
feels like there is no boost or not enough gas going to the engine. Plus I can
smell Raw fuel all the time. I have had a REVO Stage 1 chip installed and it
didn't do much a bit more jam at about 3500 RPM. My tech has tried
everything. Here is the list, Timing Belt kit, Idler Pulley, Vbelt, Rib belt A/C
and Alternator, Boost Pressure Valve, Forge DV 007p, Spark plugs and Boots,
Mas Air Flow Sensor, Fixed Vacuum Line beside intake, new CAT, A few other
sensors(I can not remember which ones), and Revo stage 1 installed. After all
this it still has the same problem, NO POWER. The Tech thinks it is the FPR
and is going to install a Bocsh 4 bar. He also want to change the Fuel filter
but can not figure out how to do this with out dropping the gas tank or
drilling a hole in the floor. Oh ya no codes are popping up at the moment.Any
feed back would be very much appreciated.

Answer
Hi there,

First off describe 'jam'. what do you mean by that?? is it sluggish??
I can see you had diagnosis done, what kind of tester scanner was used?? is it possible to check the boost pressure in real time??( with software like VAGCOM) from the looks of it you've had quite a few modifications carried out, did the problems start after a particular repair??
have you checked for any leaks in the fuel line? could explain the fuel smell.

from what i can make out it sounds like you have an issue with the gear box and not the engine, try having the filter in the gearbox sump cleaned and refill with new oil. sometimes when the filter gets chocked then the oil pressure drops and the torque converter cannot keep up with the engine. it will feel like the clutch is slipping on a manual gear box.

As for the fuel filter its located on the rear right hand side next to the wheel well. theres a plastic cover that has to be removed and you will see it between the axle and the body. no need for drilling or removing the tank.

Also has the boost pressure valve been adjusted properly?? Im assuming your referring to a after market waste gate. check the boost pressure solonoid while your at it. maybe its sticking and not closing the waste gate all the way on lower revs
