Audi Repair: audi power window fuse blowing, audi a6 quatro, amp fuse

Question
i have a 1998 audi a6 quatro wagon non turbo. the fuse for the power windows, sunroof and whatever tells the interior light to go out when the car is driven keeps blowing. i put an amp meter an never read over 2 amps. its a 15 amp fuse and where can i get a schematic and or service manual for this vehicle

Answer
hello
this fuse is for interior light and many other stuff. I have seen many A6s with same short in the wire causing this fuse to blow. Most of the time is inside driver seat, but it may be in r/side seat also.
There is a small light in the back of each front seat. The wire runs inside the seat from the floor under the seat. Most of the time, from the seat movement the power wire which goes to the light gets shorted to the seat frame and cause the fuse to blow. Sometimes you can make it just moving in the seat. So , you can take the seat apart and look for wire problem or just disconnect it under the seat. Most of them have 2pin connector just for this light under the seat.
good luck       Greg
