Audi Repair: 1996 a4 Audio hazard lights, left turn signal, light fuse

Hi Jan.I have an 1996 Audi A4.Yesterday in the morning my left and right turn signals worked fine. Then on my way home from work when I tried to use either the right or left turn signal, the hazard lights would come on instead. I checked and all the lights are working.I checked the fuse and they were fine, but when I pulled the hazard light fuse none of the turn signals came on. What do you think it might be..

The fused (positive) part of the circuit seems OK, but you probably have a poor ground connection somewhere.  The trick is to find it...  Has anybody replaced anything or worked on the car recently?  I would start there.  Same behaviour no matter which direction you select?  Let me know what you find,  Jan
