Audi Repair: audi 2004, mass airflow sensor, audi a4

Question
I just purchased an audi a4 convertible. Now occasionally the car at a red light idling stalls then restarts but when put into drive it will not go, then turn it off and start and goes fine.

This may be due to a faulty idle control module or a mass airflow sensor (MAF).  The easiest thing to do first is to get the codes read out, this can be done by your dealer or autozone to establish if there are any fault codes stored.  Let me know what you find,  Jan
