Audi Repair: audi a4 automatic estate, auto transmissions, audi a4

i have just bought a audi a4 auto estate tdi, i have noticed that when i tried to reverse it, it would not let me it felt like the handbrake was on , any ideas why? many thanks letty.

It does not move at all or is difficult?  Does it move forward OK?  The reverse gear is one of the first that starts giving trouble with auto transmissions; get the fluid level checked, and perhaps the fluid and filter changed.  Does the problem get better when the engine is warm?  Let me know,  Jan
