Audi Repair: Audi A4 1.8 1998 Choking sound when accelerating, coolant temp, audi a4

Question
Hi greg I drive an audi A4 1.8 with 112000 miles. When accelrating the car chokes and makes a sound as if there was a hole in the exhaust. Eventually the car responds and drives normally. Had the exhaust checked completely - no hole in it. Any ideas what this might be? Also noticed that the car never heats up much over 60 degrees no matter how long I've been driving.

Answer
hello
DId anybody check for faults in ECM?. This is the first thing that I will check . Also , if it's not going over 60 deg. maybe coolant temp. sensor is bad and ECM keeps the injectors open for longer time - this will make it to choke. We have seen many bad temp. sensors , but check for faults first.
good luck    Greg
