Audi Repair: Brake light bulb warning, filament bulb, heavy traffic

Question
I have a 2002 A6 3.0 Quattro and recently got a nearside brake light out warning. So I changed out the bulb yesterday with a 12v/21w single filament bulb and checked that brake lights working ok. Now I get the warning almost every time I brake!! Is the bulb wrong, or is there a way of disabling the warning? in heavy traffic it drives you mad!

Perhaps this is a bad contact issue, also did you verify that the bulb you replaced it with was identical to the one that came out?  I think if you press the acknowledge button, the error will be reset until you switch off the ignition...  Let me know,  Jan
