Audi Repair: Audi Stereo Problem, audi a6, play cd

Question
QUESTION: I own a 2002 Audi A6 and am having a problem with the stereo.  There is nothing on the display, though it remains lit up even when the car is not running!  It's done this before, but corrected itself.  Could it be a fuse?  Please help!  I love my car stereo!

ANSWER: It sounds like something has gone wrong with the logic inside the stereo.  Does it still function, how about CD's?  Can you switch it on/off?

QUESTION: It does not work at all.  It won't play CD's or radio.  It's basically "dead" but the lights remain on (screen is blank...no words displayed).  There is no change at all when I try to switch it on/off...

Answer
It might be worth checking some fuses, there sometimes is a fuse in the back of the radio, but there are typically two fuses in the car's fusebox, one supplies permanent positive for the memory etc, and one is the switched positive from the ignition.  Check that one.  Let me know,  Jan
