Audi Repair: Audi 2001 Engine in 2000 VW Passat: EPC light!, vw passat, rapid acceleration

I just had an Audi 2001 Engine (1.8L/Turbo/Automatic) put into a VW Passat 2000 (1.8L/T/Auto). It came back from the shop last week and my first ride in the car became scary! Upon rapid acceleration, especially at higher speeds, I'll hear a "beeeep" and simultaneously the EPC light shows, as well as a yellow light on the console which is a circle with an exclamation point with arrows around it (??) and the car suddenly drops to a steady 5mph with the pedal to the floor. The "check engine light" also comes on when revving the engine. Also the message: "Emissions Workshop!" appears. I was told to put dry gas/premium fuel in tank and run it, but what if that doesn't work? I'm especially concerned at how high the estimated cost of repair may range from...any ball park ideas? If it's a prob with the sensors? I know VWs are notorious for these problems. I'd really appreciate some help! Thanks.

First, I will check the codings of the ECM , You do not know where that engine was???. There is many adaptation channels which may need to be change (manual , auto, abs, etc.)). Also I will need the code # from ECM (check engine light) to help you more.
