Audi Repair: Water Pump Replacement, water pump replacement, dual overhead cam

Question
Hi, I have a 1992 Audi 100S with a leaking water pump.  I was wondering how hard it is to change the water pump?  The last time I changed a water pump was about thirty years ago when I was in college and too poor to have someone do it for me.  Then it was on a 1969 Fiat 124 and I ended up removing the dual overhead cam timing belt, messing up the timing, burning a valve and having to spend money that I didn't have for a valve job.  Anyway, now I have three kids in college  and I'm again poor and and don't have money to pay someone to do it for me.  If I ordered a repair manual, is this a job that a semi competent person could do on a Saturday?

Answer
hello
I have no idea about 1992 , I star with audis about 7 years ago and only newer models.
I will say --- Do not do it, if it has 6 cyl. engine  It runs of timing belt,so you may endup just like with your Fiat. If it's not driven by t-belt, you may be able to do it. but it will not be easy.
sorry, I can really help you.
good luck                      Greg
