Audi Repair: A4 oil (consumption, grease?), lithium grease, yellow grease

Question
My 2002 A4 3.0 has started using a lot of oil.  Service 4 months ago, I've only driven 2500 miles since, and the low oil light came on.  I used to drive 8000 or 10000 miles without putting any oil in.  Should I be worried?  I haven't noticed drips and can't figure out where the oil is going.
Also I noticed some white or light yellow gunk on the dipstick (at the end that sits in the oil), it looks almost like lithium grease or something.  Does that indicate a problem?

Thanks!

Answer
hello
Was the oil level OK after service? maybe it was low from the beginning. Make sure synthetic oil is used. I will just keep checking it for next 2-3000 miles and see.
If you check your owners manual , Audi is saying that 1Q of oil is normal every 1000 miles. I know , it's crazy but you can check it yourself.
I also have seen many dipstick with white/yellow grease on it, I think this is from using regular oil not systemic.
good luck         pltech
