Audi Repair: ABS brakes, abs brakes, audi a6 avant

i have an audi A6 avant 2.5tdi 1999, the abs light is constantly on and the red brake light with the ! in the middle in constantly flashing. the car has been stood still for 6 months, due to having a new turbo and vacume pump fitted.
any help needed!

I have seen a lot of this on 2.8 and 1.8T engines . Because that's what we have in US.
If VAG can not communicate with ABS module and /or cluster have fault for some uneven road , your ABS module is bad and needs to be replace. You can get just electronic part with out hydraulic unit , and it's very easy to replace. Just 6 bolts and 2 connectors.
