Auto Electronics: CD player failure, ac delco, power drain

Question
After replacing the battery in my car, my CD player drains my battery and I get message 'no discs' when I play it even though CDs are in the magazine. My car is 1996 El Dorado. The CD player is a AC DELCO 12disc in the trunk.

Are you getting an E code on the display? IE E10, E12, E33?

 Is the Disc player making noise constantly trying to load a disc?

 The disc player should have no power when key is in off position.  If you remove plug from the disc player does the power drain go away?

Sorry for late replies.  This is my busy season and its 40d Celcius outside.  I will get around to answering every question but it may take me a few hours. I typically book 12-15 cars a day right now and its getting overwhelming.  Many electrical problems and difficult to find leaks!
