Auto Electronics: blower motor, automatic temperature control, resistor pack

Question
Sorry, I thought I mentioned that, It is 2000 T & C 3.8L with dual zone A/C, It only works on high, The mechanic told me it is the climate cintrol panel and there is no resistor!, I got a used one, same problem. all other buttons work fine.

Answer
Omar, the answer depends on whether or not the vehicle is equipped with automatic temperature control or manual. If yours is manual temperature controlled, then it does indeed have a resistor pack. This would most likely be the problem and it is mounted under the hood, right side above the headlight. However, if your vehicle HVAC is automatically controlled, there is no resistor pack and the diagnosis is very complex. There are several modules that together control the system and blower speeds, both front and rear. They include the front blower power module, and the front control module, which is part of the intelligent power module. Unless you have the factory DRB III scan tool, diagnosis will be difficult. Your mechanic's incorrect guess at the repair is a testament to that. I do know of several that were fixed by replacement of the front blower power module, but I don't recommend replacing without testing. Good luck. Don.
