Cadillac Repair: 1990 Cadillac Eldorado, auo theft denied claim forensic expert consultant uccessfully refuting the insurance forensic lock

Question
Hey, I have a 1990 Cadillac Eldorado. My stereo is a bose Delco gold series, and it don't work so I was wanting to put a aftermarket Kenwood radio in. I've had friends tell me you have to replace it with the same one you took out or else the car won't work due to something with the security system. PLEASE HELP I can't find anything about it on the Internet!

Answer
Hello,

Factory security should not be an issue. You have the VATS garbage. Vehicle Anti Theft System which never prevented theft, but could cost owners up to $800.00 from a dealer to repair because the engine starts at times or won't start.
The first thing I recommend is that you have this junk bypassed before you have to write me because you are stranded. The bypass at an alarm store should run you about $60 and you will never have concerns on that issue again.

The Bose is not integral with the anti theft system. You may have to change the speakers however because they are amplified and are designed to work with the Bose.  Installation of the aftermarket stereo should not be an issue.

You can search for "Crutchfield." Contact their installation techs and ask if you can use the bose speakers or they need to be replaced.
