Cadillac Repair: windshield wipers on all the time 2002 sls cadillac, key of the proper type, last key used

Question
I start my car and widnshield wipers come on and stay on. The fluid is also on and will run dry and you can still here motor trying to dispense fluid. I am trying to find a diagram to remove power from windshield wipers or verify which fuse to check. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I do not have a diagram for your car, but you should be able to download the complete factory service manual for the car at http://www.alldata.com for around $30, which gives you diagnostic flow charts so you are not guessing and replacing perfectly good parts on a guess.
The most common cause is a defective park switch inside the wiper motor, which requires replacement of the motor, however it could also be a defective wiper switch as well.
