Cadillac Repair: 2005 CTS, Nets key pathway, last key used

QUESTION: Hi. My car wont start. I turn the key on and nothing happens. Also it wont let the key turn all the way back to where I can take it without pushing in the unlock button under the steering column. Screen also says "service theft system". This happened a month or so ago but it started working again a few weeks later. I've tried the on/off 3 times thing and no help. Any ideas?

Here is something for you to try even though it sounds crazy. Tilt the column in different positions and see if engine starts and get back to me.

QUESTION: I tried all of the tilt stops and even points in between several times. Did not start. Nothing but the normal starting dash icons. Doesnt even turn over.

I have been burning the candle at both ends and as I explained, I was writing a report on a 1995 Caddy and did not realize yours was a 2005. I apologize for having you tilt the column, because although germane on a 1995 with broken wires in the so called anti theft system, which I have had a tremendous amount of questions on this GM anti theft junk, not applicable for 2005. As I told you in private e-mail, disconnect negative battery cable for 30 minutes to reset this system. Reconnect. If engine does not start, if you have another, try another key. If you don't or the engine still does not start, you will need to have the car taken to a service center. Never a dealer because they are far too expensive and I can count many example they are no better either.

Sorry about the mix up. I think it is the first time that it has happened in over 10,000 questions and hopefully will be the last.
