Cadillac Repair: 1992 cadillac deville, Robert Mangine, Noorth Ameircan Forensic Consulting

Question
Sorry to bother you again. How would I know the wheel cylinder size on my 1992 cadillac deville. Autozone shows a 15/16" diameter wheel cylinder and a 7/8" diameter wheel cylinder.

Answer
Hello,

I find this strange in itself because MG was always doing a slip shod job by separating SAE from Metric. In theory, 7/8 ot 16/16 should not be correct because it should be in metric size, not SAE. Look at you wheel cylinder bolts-they are metric, not SAE. Don't know what they did for brake line threads. In other words GM cars are really misfits and the more you work on one, the more you will see it.

Call Cadillac parts. Give them the VIN on the car. Get the GM Part number and have autozone convert if if they are capable. If not try Oreily's or somewhere else.
It annoys me when getting parts from these national chains that they are not capable of supplying the right part. GM should be in metric like 24 and 26MM and that is just a guess by the way. In theory though, someone should be able to get you the correct part if you have the GM art number.
