Question
Recently to power top quit working. In the owner's manual, there is no fuse or relay for the power top.  I have found that I do not have power to the switch on the dash.  Where and how can I trace back the wire to its power source to see why there is no power.  I did test the switch and it is good.  Thanks so much.  Lynn

Answer
Hello,

I do not believe you will find what you need to about this car in the manual. Your car was made in Texas by a dealer that made the after market conversion to a convertible. GM never made this in a convertible. It's like my ex-wife's 1991 Fire bird convert she bought new. Another after market conversion.

I am sure it is circuit breaker protected. My top pull down motor on my Allante had a circuit breaker. I would suggest you go to the motor first and check the ground and with a test light check power. It is not going to be easy, but you will have to trace from motor to the switch and CB will be in between.

Where are you in Texas? It's kind of a big state--LOL I am east of Dallas near Greenville and if you are close enough, maybe I could look at the car for you.
