Answer
Hello,

I am not going to be much help this time, (but I can help some). These cars are not meant to have the key in the on position for an extended time when not running. That is the purpose of accessories for the ignition lock. Your pump, your lights and the theft are all related, so you don't have a theft system problem. I think you might have a module fried, I just don't want to have you or me start guessing.

My first suggestion would be to obtain a factory service manual for the car at http://www.alldata.com for $30 and download it. Not a waste of money because it will come in handy for any repairs to save you money in the future as well.

You will find diagnostic flow charts that will assist you in finding the exact problem and in most cases, you don't have to be a sophisticated technician to locate and fix the problem. It is very possible you have a fried BCM (Body control module). The BCM controls about every function in the vehicle and that is why I lean to it.

Please remember I am limited by the fact I am not at the vehicle and can only go by your description.

For what it is worth, I have seen these situations before where the son listened to the radio for a while with similar results.

Good luck!

Let me know what you find.
